In response to the announcement by Bloemwater that it wants to reduce the water supply to the Mangaung Metro Municipality from the 10th of April 2020, the FF Plus demands that action must be taken to stop the planned water supply reduction.

Without proper water supply, residents will not be able to comply with the measures that were announced to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

In light of President Cyril Ramaphosa's declaration of a national state of disaster in terms of the Disaster Management Act, the FF Plus sent an official letter to the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu, to take action as executive authority and put a stop to the planned reduction of water supply to the Metro.

The FF Plus will also send an official letter to Bloemwater to inform the entity that the party will take legal steps against it should it carry out its plan to reduce the water supply.

The FF Plus is calling on all Metro residents to maintain personal hygiene. The party will keep fighting for the resources needed to keep the community safe amid the pandemic.
